dr Marcin Z. Zieliński

Marcin is a legal advisor, holding a PhD degree in legal sciences. He specializes in IT/IP law, civil law, consumer law, constitutional law as well as access to information, IP and protection of personal data. He also focuses on problems involving EU law elements.

He started his professional career in a private practice; for the last 15 years however he was working at the Polish Constitutional Tribunal where he was responsible for research of Polish and foreign jurisprudence and comparative studies. During his stay at the Tribunal he also served as assistant to a Justice of the Tribunal. He was also involved in development and supervision over legal-IT projects conducted by the Office of the Tribunal.

He is an academic lecturer in civil law and IT-IP law. He graduated from the Warsaw University and also studied at the Paris Lodron University in Salzburg. He also conducted legal research at the Max Planck Institute in Freiburg im Breisgau. He is author or co-author of many scientific publications, including the monograph on “Tortious liability of intermediary service providers”, published by Wolters Kluwer in 2013. He is also translator and co-translator of popular science books by authors like Philip Zimbardo (psychology), Christopher Moore (mediation) and Cathy O’Neil (Big Data, mathematics).
